HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!
New Year's greetings to everyone! I just got the black-eyed peas soaking, so y'all all come on over to the house tomorrow (actually, later today!) and we'll pass the peas and cornbread to you! All dieting shall be suspended for 24 more hours!
Just saw Clemson go down to Auburn in overtime, watched the ball fall in Times Square, and am amazed that Dick Clark is still running the show and doing a great job, considering all he's been through! Should inspire all of us to keep on keeping on, too!
Kudos to my niece, Judy, who is on board now (and is our family historian and accomplished genealogy expert), for keeping the Gray side of the family well-documented and loving every minute of it! That is one thing I hope to do a better job of in 2008: organizing my "stuff" and making some order out of some of the closet clutter, for one thing!
We don't know what the new year will bring, but we just must simply trust the Lord for whatever He allows to come into our lives. He sees the big picture. One thing we do know is that He will see us through the bad times and the good times!
A lot of folks wonder about whether or not Christians should make New Year's resolutions. This very question popped up as the Question of the Week on GotQuestions.org, a website that we find very biblically accurate. Maybe some of you would like to see what that website says about resolutions. GotQuestions.org[questweek@gotquestions.org]
I'm looking forward to learning more about this website business and maybe by the time another new year rolls around it will be a lot more interesting and informative! Thanks to so many of you who have chimed in and cheered me on!
Happy New Year to all. Be sure to eat your cabbage and black-eyed peas!

Happy New Year!
Don't kill the messenger! Yes, this restaurant(and the chef) is located in New York City!
Aunt V was right when she said food pictures make all the difference. I thought a trip to NYC might be on my list of things to do after I saw the finished product!
Here is a link to the website:

Or...just do a search for Karl Redding's Black-eyed peas and Collard Greens. (No problem finding adobo in Texas).
Blessings to everyone,
Judy

Well, after looking at the recipe for Karl Redding’s Black-eyed Peas and Collard Greens we just may have to drag this New Year's celebration out a bit! Can't beat that Southern cooking even if it is in New York City! Thanks, Judy. Keep 'em coming!

Velta, how wonderful to have your own website and you are the perfect one for this. I've just gone to it for the first time and am so impressed. Keep all the news, pictures and recipes coming to us. What a small place the world becomes when we are able to connect like this.
